Pterodactyl panel basics
Use the Pterodactyl panel for files, console output, power controls, startup settings, SFTP, and backups.
Open the panel
- 1From the X Systems site header, press Panel.
- 2Or open a server card and press Panel or Open panel.
- 3Sign in with the panel account created during signup.
- 4Choose the wanted server from the Pterodactyl server list.
Main panel areas
| Area | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Console | Start, restart, stop, and read live process output. |
| Files | Upload, edit, rename, archive, extract, and delete server files. |
| Databases | The current credit Discord server base has no database slots. |
| Schedules | Run supported power actions or commands on a schedule when available. |
| Users | Only use subusers when the panel and server permissions allow it. |
| Backups | Create snapshots when the server has backup slots. |
| Network | View the assigned allocation and port. |
| Startup | Change the main file or startup command manually. |
| Settings | Rename the panel server or reinstall only when you understand the effect. |
| Activity | Review actions performed on the server. |
Power buttons
| Button | Use |
|---|---|
| Start | Starts an offline server. |
| Restart | Stops and starts the process. Use after file or startup changes. |
| Stop | Requests a normal shutdown. |
| Kill | Forces the process off. Use only when Stop does not work. |
Good to know
The X Systems dashboard controls credits, runtime, resources, and account limits. Pterodactyl controls the actual server process and files.
